WHERE ARE SUSPENDERS PLACED WHEN WORN CORRECTLY?

Men’s suspenders are worn instead of a belt to comfortably hold up your pants, or as I like to call them, trousers. Customers often ask me where their suspenders are supposed to be placed when they are being worn.

When deciding where to place the buttons to attach your suspenders to your pants, or where to clip your suspenders onto your pants, consider where the suspender straps will be placed down the front of your body. Ideally, each strap should lay half way between your shirt buttons and the side seam of your pants/waistband. Jeffery, above, is wearing the Sunflowers bow tie and suspenders. 

When you are wearing suspenders under your jacket, they should not show until you take off your jacket, nor should the leather paddles or clips show while you are wearing your jacket. They will occasionally make an appearance if your jacket falls open, as is the case with the groom pictured below. Think of your suspenders like fancy underwear: not visible until you want to show a little more of who you are.
